FAQ

Answers for estate transitions.

Clear guidance for families who need to know what comes next—after a loss or while planning ahead.

What is an estate transition?

An estate transition is the full process of moving a household and its belongings through a major life change. That may follow a death, happen during downsizing, or begin while a family is still planning ahead. It often includes appraisals, decisions about valuables, and coordination with the right professionals.

Do you only help after someone has passed away?

No. We support families after a loss and while planning for the future. The need is the same either way: good answers and a complete path through the transition.

Can you help me find a realtor, lawyer, or repair person?

Yes. Networking is central to what we do. When a transition requires realtors, attorneys, repair professionals, cleanout help, or other services, we help you know where to go and who to call.

Can you help with gold, silver, and coins?

Yes. Jewelry, coins, and silver turn up in almost every estate, and families often don’t know what they’re looking at. We’ll talk it through first. Purchasing or brokering a sale is optional—only if that is the help you want. See our gold, silver & coins page and our dedicated estate jewelry buyer page.

Should we get an appraisal before selling anything?

Often, yes. Knowing what something is worth—before anything leaves the house—prevents rushed decisions and family tension. See our Appraisals page for how that conversation usually goes.

Where are you located?

We are based at 113 Tiogue Avenue, Unit 5, Coventry, RI, and serve families across Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts—with focused coverage of communities within about 50 miles of 02816. See our service areas or request a consultation.

Do you handle estate liquidations?

Yes. Estate liquidations are part of our transition support—helping families sell, settle, or clear household contents when that is what the property requires. See our estate liquidation company page, plus estate sales and contents buyouts when those paths fit better.

Can you shred sensitive documents?

Yes. We offer sensitive document destruction and shredding for personal papers, financial records, and other confidential materials that should not leave an estate casually. Details are under document destruction.

Do you do property cleanouts?

Yes—through our sister company, Jimmy’s Junk. We coordinate full-service property cleanouts as part of the transition plan so guidance, valuables, and the physical clear stay aligned. Learn more on our estate cleanouts page.

Are you connected to Jimmy’s Junk?

Yes. Legacy Estate Solutions Group is the sister company of Jimmy’s Junk. Same family, same community values—Jimmy’s Junk handles junk removal and cleanouts; we focus on full estate transitions, networking, appraisals, and help with family valuables. Read more on our About page.

We are a family business with more than 50 years of combined professional experience and 11 years dealing in estates together. We cultivated our process and network through years of growth and learning, and we built this company because a little compassion goes a long way. Every job is personal to us.
